He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Griffith and Nora Griffith (Glackin). He is survived by: his spouse Dale Griffith (Irwin); his children, Dave, Connie Mearkle (Bobby) and Bonnie Hockenberry (Dennis); his stepson George Raymond Sparks, Jr. of Delta Samuel; and his siblings, Charlotte Neeper and Charles Griffith. He is also survived by three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, seven step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.
