We are sad to announce that on June 3, 2025, Helen R. Cortazar (Dickson City, Pennsylvania), born in Throop, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Patrick Cortazar Sr.; her parents, George Virbitsky and Ann Yakevitski Virbitsky; her sons, Patrick Cortazar and John; and her brother Michael Virbitsky.
She is survived by: her daughter Elizabeth Zurat (Jerald) of Danielsville, PA; her grandsons, Louis, Patrick III (Mandy), Bruce (Rebecca), Thomas (Brandi), Alan (Kate), Jason and Vincent; her siblings, Joseph Virbitsky (Wendy) and Jean Bednarek; and her daughter-in-law Proca Cortazar.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Frank T Mazur Funeral Home (601 Dundaff St, Dickson City, PA 18519). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Blessed Sacrament Church (215 Rebecca St, Throop, PA 18512).
