He is survived by : his wife Jennifer Bate Kerns of Dilliner, PA.; his children, Ashley Kerns-McMillen (Deon McMillen II) and Justin Kerns (Destinee) of Morgantown; his pet Benny Charcoal; his siblings, Judy Turner of Lancaster, PA, Randy Kerns (Tonya) of Fairmont, WV, Robert Kerns of Columbus, GA, Brad Kerns (Kim) of Morgantown and Noel Kerns (Sharon) of Morgantown; and his close friend Allen Morgan of Morgantown. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles nieces, nephews, and cousins.
