He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Wineland and Orveda Wineland (Resig); his son Stephen F.; his grandson Stephen F. II; and his siblings, Laretta Kauffman, Martha Ann Conrad and Ronald Wineland.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth C. Hammaker; his daughters, Cynthia Y. Hammel of East Freedom, Theresa A. Campbell of East Freedom and Allyson D. Oppel (Steven) of Hollidaysburg; and his brother George Wineland. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
