As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Elwood may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Claar and Goldie Claar (Dively); his wife Patricia Burket; and his brothers, Harold and Dale Claar.
He is survived by: his children, Elwood Jr. (Deborah) of Duncansville, Scott (Deborah) of Duncansville, Steven (Jackie) of Bellwood and Tracey Shoop (Joseph) of Hollidaysburg; and his sister Rhea Acker (James) of Claysburg. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home (810 Bedford St, Claysburg, PA 16625). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren (405 Upper Claar Rd, Claysburg, PA 16625).
