He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Mason Hicks and Margaret "Peggy" Hicks (Vosburgh); his wife Brenda Lee Burrows; his stepsons, Roger King (Patty) of Bruin and Scott King (Cindy) of West Freedom; his grandchildren, Keighlene Linamen (Tom), Alyssa King, Keaton King and Dakota King; his great grandchildren, Braxxton, Emmalynn and Thea; and his siblings, Barbara Over, Lorie Hicks, Samuel Hicks, Arthur Hicks and John Hicks.
