He was predeceased by: his wife Loretta C. Gonka (Kaczor). He is survived by: his daughter Janet M. Smith (Al) of Butler; his grandchildren, Jennifer Easley (Douglas) of Karns City, PA and Steve Smith (Nicole) of Butler; his great grandchild Matt Easley; and his sister Elizabeth Grzegorzyca of Poland. He is also survived by half-brother and half-sister in Poland; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks Memorial Contributions be made in Joe's memory to Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 411 McKinley Ave., East Vandergrift, PA, 15629.
