He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincent Takacs, Jr. and Beatrice Takacs (Handwerk); and his wife Shirley A. Takacs (Steinmetz). He is survived by: his daughters, LuAnne S. Kelly of Glendale, AZ, Susan L. Furrow (Dale) of Troy, ME, Lisa A. Setar (Mark S.) of Stroudsburg, PA and Cynthia A. Gutshall (Mark J.) of Blakeslee, PA; his brother Robert Takacs of Stroudsburg, PA; his grandchildren, Glenn Laliberte (Kathy), Michelle Hake (Terry), Nicole Kelly, Evan and Jarrad Choy; and his great grandchildren, Fallon Brannigan, Bryce, Aidan and Saige Hake. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
