He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Gilbert Nielsen and Lucille Nielsen (Labozzetta); his wife Martine; his children, Gilbert Nielsen, III, Marc Nielsen, Eric-Andre Nielsen, Paul Nielsen, Christiana Pheiffer and Arianna Casado; his siblings, Paul Nielsen, Joann Ferrughelli and Lisa Cannon; and his mother-in-law Marie Casado.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ashton Funeral Home (1337 Northampton St, Easton, PA 18042). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
