With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melvin O. Bennett (Eldred, Pennsylvania), born in Bradford, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 27, 2020 at the age of 81. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Melvin O. Bennett to pay them a last tribute.
He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Lawrence Bennett and Irene Straight Bennett; his children, David Bennett of Olean, John Bennett (Brandi) of Houston, Scott Crandall (Tina) of Olean, Sharon Gleason (Dan) of Portville, N. Y. and Lisa Carpenter (Don) of Olean; his stepchildren, Timothy Whitney (Lesli) of Eldred, Michelle Robinson (Randy) of Katy and Vicky Kerr (Butch Smith) of Duke Center; and his half-siblings, Rick Bennett (Marilyn) of Shinglehouse, Judy McCann (David) of Eldred, Shirley Hall (Ted) of Allegany, N. Y., Lynn Shick (Tom), Jo Crandall (Ed) of Eldred, Cindy Goodemote of Salamanca, N. Y., David Strait and Florence Jean Bennett. He was also cherished by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic there will be no services at this time.
Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Hinsdale, N.Y. The family requests that memorials be made to the Eldred Area Free Library and Historical Society.
