It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol M. Steilner of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 10, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Pifer and Mary Houk Pifer; and her stepmother Nancy Venezie Pifer. She is survived by: her husband John Steilner; her children, Christal Gajewski-Steilner of Ellwood City, John Steilner (Karen) of Ellwood City and Doreen Houk (Dave) of Ellwood City; her grandchildren, Matthew Houk (Megan), Larissa Houk, Savannah Steilner, Johnny Steilner, Jr. (Jessica), Anthony Varrati (Casey) and Jacob Varrati (Bailey); her great grandchildren, Madalynn Houk, Layla Steilner, Liza Mae Steilner, Domenic Steilner, Grayson Varrati and Peyton Varrati; and her siblings, William Pifer (Karen) of South Carolina and Roberta Lewis of Georgia.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory (97 Grim Ave, Ellwood City, PA 16117). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
