She was predeceased by: her parents, Irwin Smith and Geraldine Mottern Smith; her husband John H. Hathaway, Jr.; and her sister Thelma Rowe. She is survived by: her daughter Deborah S. Hathaway (Rick Freyer); and her siblings, Lloyd Smith of The Villages, FL, Larry Smith of Corbin, KY, Roger Smith of Corbin, KY and Sherryl A. Newton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
