It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sonja Jo Blackburn Prostorog Gettemy of Enon Valley, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 2, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Blackburn and Georgia Call Blackburn; her former husband George Prostorog; her husband David Gettemy, Sr.; and her brother Joseph Blackburn.
She is survived by: her children, Greg Prostorog (Nancy Morrison) of New Brighton, PA, Doug Prostorog (Debra Holzhauer) of Cape Girardeau, MO and Gina Koty (David) of Enon Valley, PA; her stepchildren, David Gettemy, Jr. (Mimi) of Enon Valley, PA and Janet Carbone of Portersville, PA; her grandchildren, Hannah Koty, Hayley Koty, David Gettemy, III (Allison), Crystal Jones (Ryan) and Jenny Lynn Morrison; her great grandchild Adda Jones; her grandchildren, Lucas Jones, David R. Gettemy, Katelyn Gettemy and Kaelyn Morrison; her sister Irene Ridenour of Chippewa Twp; her nieces, Rhonda Ridenour and Robin Thompson; and her nephew Randy Ridenour.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Westfield Presbyterian Church (1363 Mt Jackson Rd, New Castle, PA 16102). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location.
