He was predeceased by: his parents, James F. Root and Helen Root (Peters); his spouse Shirley Root (Adair); and his brother Robert Root. He is survived by: his children, Wendy Sweigart, Darryl J. Root (Valeri), Scott L. Root (Fiance Dawn Polidor) and Tracy A. Root; and his sisters, Gloria Groff, Beverly Nolt and Karen Brunken. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.
