He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dietrich and Velma Dietrich (Cricks); his wife Virginia Stankiewicz Dietrich (Naples); and his siblings, Robert Dietrich and Dorothy Gould.
He is survived by: his children, Donald Dietrich, Jr. of Erie, Dale Dietrich (Rebecca), Debra Dill (Jeff) of Eagleville, PA, Cindy Ericson (Stephen) of North Carolina, Thomas Platz (Karin) of Waterford, Marcus Platz of Tampa, FL, Norman Platz (Sherry) of Lake City, Terri Noonan of Erie, Dr. Irene Matz of Cypress, CA and Al Stankiewicz (Esther) of Los Angeles; his grandchildren, Brendan Dill, Jessica Dill and Mackenzie Dietrich; and his brother-in-law Jack Gould.
