He was predeceased by: his mother Eugenia Modzelewski; his adoptive parents, Anthony DeLeo and Helen DeLeo (Lewicki); and his stepdaughter-in-law Alexis Alexander (McDonald). He is survived by: his wife Conchita "Connie" DeLeo; his children, Janice Meeder (Jeffrey), Anthony DeLeo (Lorie), Edward DeLeo, Jr. (Lois) and Patricia Herbold (Robert); his stepchildren, James Bebko (Maria), Stephen Bebko (Theresa), Robyn Edinger, Douglas Alexander (Sue), Michelle Krone (Matt) and Craig Alexander; and his friends, Art and Sandy Pierce. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren.
