He was predeceased by: his wife Sheila McHale. He is survived by: his children, Daniel Gales and Amy Adrian (Shaun); his grandchildren, Douglas Gales, Rebecca Connolly (Cameron), Emily Adrian and Connor Adrian; and his siblings, John Robert Gales (Shirley) and Eileen Donnelly (Robert Mucha). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Gene graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and worked most of his career at Swindell Dressler as a job leader in concrete foundation design.
