He was predeceased by: his parents, Oswald Winkler and Barbara Hufnagel Winkler; his stepmother Lucille Fisher Winkler; his brother James Winkler; and his stepsisters, Linda Watkins and Judy Kress.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Wolf Winkler; his children, Joseph Winkler (Jeanne) of Waterford, Kathy Deutsch (Joe) of Wattsburg, Lisa Brzozowski (Tom) of Erie and Barbara Johnson (Kurt) of Erie; his grandchildren, Lauren (Zach Gillman), Kaitlyn, Erica Winkler, Michael Deutsch, Megan, Leanne Brzozowski, Amanda, Claire and Kurt Johnson, Jr.; and his sister-in-law Sharon Winkler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
