He was predeceased by: his brother Edward McKelvey. He is survived by: his children, Richard C. McKelvey, Jr. (Sarah) of Erie, Mark McKelvey of Erie and Grace Henderson (Jarrod) of San Jose; his sister Laura LeVan (Randy) of Erie; his grandchildren, Alexandria Jade, Nicholas, Natasha, Nathanial, Natalie Isma and Noah; and his sibling's children, Melissa Irwin, Tina Strange and Edward McKelvey.
