He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Ernest Aurele Desmarais and Evelyn Loretta Justice Desmarais. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis J. Desmarais (Gilbert); his sons, Steven Desmarais of Erie, David Desmarais of San Antonio, TX, Michael Desmarais of Erie and Bruce Desmarais of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Alissa, Karley, Steven and Shannon; and his brother Louis Desmarais of New York.

Memorials may be made to the Erie Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 135 East 38th Street, Erie, Pa 16504.
