He was predeceased by: his parents, Merton B. Phillips and Viola Silvis Phillips; his wife Margaret "Peggy" Kahle Phillips; his siblings, Martha, Fred and Merle; and his daughter-in-law Nada Phillips.
He is survived by: his children, W. Gordon Phillips, Jr. of Girard and Kristine Diehl (Lonny) of Kane. He is also survived by five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
