He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Buchanan and Jane Buchanan; his brother Bruce; his brother-in-law Mark Bukowski; and his son-in-law Michael Schons.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Marge DelPorto; his children, Heather Schons, Brady Buchanan and Tod Buchanan; his stepchildren, Denise Bedoya (Rich) and Derek DelPorto (Olivia); his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kian, Arianna, Haley, Landon, Cole, Royce and Charlie; and his siblings, Dr. Jay Buchanan (Elaine), Sandra Foster (David), Candice Bukowski, Ellen Hoffmeister (Ned) and Jane Ross (Derek). He is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews and fourteen great nieces and nephews.
