He was predeceased by: his parents, William Johnson and Louella Johnson; his wife Marion Carns; his former wife Sue Ella; his daughter Debra Kay Johnson; and his sister June Bartley Miller.
He is survived by: his daughter Susan Johnson (Paul) of Millcreek; his grandsons, Kurt (Lori) of Pittsburgh, Shawn (Valerie) and Springfield; his great grandchildren, Samantha, Kaylee, Lucas, Nathan, Erik, Tyler and Hallie; his stepchildren, Jack Carns (Karen) of Erie and Colleen Bojewski (Roman) of Fairview; his stepgrandchildren, Brianna, Chelsea, Blake and Haley; his sisters-in-law, Lucy Jane Taylor (Jim) of DuBois, Hazel Pierce of Athens, Ala. and Shirley Pierce of Beaver Falls; and his daughter Pam Baumgart. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
