It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laverna Hortert of Evans City, Pennsylvania, born in Butler, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 1, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Gilliland and Mildred Gilliland (Burry); her son Richard R. Hortert; and her sister Thelma Christley. She is survived by: her husband Carl R. Hortert; her children, Daniel Hortert (Kathy) of Maryland, Larry Hortert (Debra) of Georgia, Keith Hortert (Nean) of Beaver Falls, Debbie Zbuckvich (Frank) of Butler and Jeff Hortert (Leslie) of Kentucky; and her siblings, Marie StClair (Carl) of Butler, Shirley Moore (Ron) of Butler and Edward Gilliland (Gwen) of Butler.
