He was predeceased by: his parent Stanley Shaffern; his siblings, Stanley James Shaffern and Phyllis Sgrignoli; and his brothers-in-law, David Sgrignoli and James Kuklo.

He is survived by: his parent Margaret Shaffern (Figard); his sisters, Joan, Norman, June Kuklo, Jean Wright, Judy and John; and his sister-in-law Patricia Shaffern. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
