It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jay V. Shaffer of Fairfield, Pennsylvania, born in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 13, 2022, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Shaffer and Margaret Shaffer (Mickley); his sons, Matthew and Daniel Shaffer; and his brothers, Fred and Mick Shaffer.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Shaffer (Clapsdal); his daughter Susan M. Switzer (Tom) of Orrtanna, PA; his grandchildren, Megan Shaffer, Jaydon Shaffer, Erin Switzer and Vera Lynn Shaffer; his great grandchild Gabriel Switzer; and his siblings, Shelby Feaster, Don Shaffer (Dorothy), Dave Shaffer (Genny), Mary Ann Dickerson (Lynn), Sandy Harmon, Linda Thomas (Danny), John Shaffer, Randy Shaffer and Bill Shaffer (Dorothy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
