She was predeceased by : her parents, Marvin Maphis and Mary Maphis (Clipp); her husband Charles J. Smith Sr.; and her aunt Agnes O'Brien. She is survived by : her children, Charles J. Smith Jr. (Danielle), Kimberly Spina (Alfred) and Melissa Smith; her granddaughters, Jordan, Lindsay, Miranda, Julia and Jessica; her sister-in-law Kathy Maphis; her niece Laura Maphis; her nephew Christopher Maphis; and her pet Charlie.
