Mary Joanne Southworth Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Joanne Southworth of Ford City, Pennsylvania, who passed away on July 19, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Mary Joanne has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas M. Benner and Helen Louise Benner (Duncan); and her husband Gary E. Southworth. She is survived by: her children, Robert Southworth (Andrea) of Ford City and Sharon L. Batistig (David) of Shelocta; her brother John T. Benner of Cheyenne, WY; and her friend James Fusco. She is also survived by six granddaughters; two grandsons; three great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Welch Funeral Service (1032 4th Ave, Ford City, PA 16226). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Ford Memorial United Methodist Church (1024 4th Ave, Ford City, PA 16226).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ACMH Laube Cancer Center.
