She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Pyryt and Mary Gerlak Pyryt; her husband Frank; and her siblings, Frank J. Pyryt, Cecilia Chorey and Alicia Pyryt.
She is survived by: her children, Frank Drost, Mariane Drost-Whalen (Willow Street), David Drost (Karen) and Daniel Drost (Corinne); her grandchildren, Anthony Whalen, Alyssia Pond (Jeffrey) and Daniel Drost; and her sisters, Marian Pyryt and Evelyn McHugh.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home (1442 Wyoming Ave, Forty Fort, PA 18704). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc. (1442 Wyoming Ave, Forty Fort, PA 18704). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (116 Hughes St, Swoyersville, PA 18704). A Mass was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 12:25 PM to 12:45 PM at the Saint Mary the Nativity R. C. Cemetery (12 Prospect St, Plymouth, PA 18651).
The family kindly requests that floral offerings be omitted and memorial contributions be made in Sophie's memory to the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 4 East Center Hill Road, Dallas, PA 18612.
