He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Dye and Frances Welch Dye; and his daughter Susan Marie Bartley. He is survived by: his brother Hiram (Edgar Haram Dye); his wife Joyce Y. Dye; his son Lawrence Dye (Virginia) of Largo, MD; his grandchildren, Jacob Dye and Rachel Bartley; and his son-in-law Robert Buck Bartley.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to a favorite charity.
