He was predeceased by : his parents, Jesse Staton and Lida Mae Staton (Noel); his son William Monroe; and his siblings, Jesse James Staton, Geraldine Cash and Barbara Barhehouse.

He is survived by : his children, Laura Rexroth of Fayetteville, PA, Monica Smith (Gerald) of Hanover, PA, Lisa McKinsey (Matthew) of Gettysburg, PA, Russell Staton, Jr. (Kim) of Gettysburg, PA and Edward Monroe (Samantha) of Gettysburg, PA; and his siblings, Maxine Lonas, Katherine Mellinger and Larry Staton. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren.
