He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Effrig and Ida Effrig (Strawn); and his son Russell Effrig. He is survived by: his sons, Ernest R. Effrig Jr. (Lisa), Gordon Effrig (Sarah) and Tim Effrig (Heidi); and his close friend Marlene Williams. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ernest's memory to Relay for Life Pottstown Hospital, 1600 E. High St., Pottstown, PA 19464.
