He was predeceased by: his son Jeffery Allen Fies; and his sisters, Beverly Fies and Margaret Fuller. He is survived by: his wife Shelby Fies (Williams); his children, Tina M. White of David, II and John M. Fies, Jr. (Tracy); his siblings, Karen E. Smith, Cathy Garlich, Ruth A. Fies, Suehannah Fies, Robert "Bob" Fies, Mark Fies, David Fies (Karla) and Paul Fies (Paige); and his grandchildren, Jordyn M. Rathburn, Brianna L. Fies, Bryan Olesky, Issabella White and Abbigail White. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
