He was predeceased by: his father Adolph A. "Whitey" Appel, Jr.; his grandparents, Frank, Louise Mash DelBene, Adolph Sr. and Helen Lesniak Appel; and his friends, Nickie Friscarelli and Joe Clemens.
He is survived by: his mother Rose Marie DelBene Appel; his brothers, Chris Appel (Shirl) of Greensburg, Karl Appel (Leigh) of Severna Park, MD. and Craig Appel of Parker, CO.; his siblings' children, Jessica Severn (Dan), Lynn Appel and Hayden Appel; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Samantha, Emma and Charlie Severn; and his cousins, Frank, Bobby and Michael DelBene. He is also survived by his many aunts, uncles and cousins.
