He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. McCleary and Lillie E. McCleary (Wertz); his wife Eleanor R. Brubaker; and his siblings, Carol Berry and Ronald McCleary.
He is survived by: his children, Connie Butler (Ed), Sandra McCarl (Kim), Sondra Vollmer (David) and Melvin R. McCleary, Jr. (Denise); his caregiver Rita Morgan; Kali Carter (Darren), Alexsis, Kayla, Preston, Heather Hertzog (Jay) and Mel. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cunningham Funeral Home, Inc. (306 Bessemer Ave, Grove City, PA 16127). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 9th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
