He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Amendola and Angela Damiano Amendola; his wife Dorothy Sinkiewicz Amendola; his son-in-law Robert Schoen; and his siblings, Joseph, Anthony Amendola, Mary Moore, Angela, Rita, Margaret and Anna Marie Amendola.

He is survived by: his children, Debbie Schoen, Barbara Sachs and Robert Drake; his grandsons, Michael Schoen, Ryan Schoen and Christopher Schoen (Lauren); and his great grandchild Reagan Schoen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home (89 Park Ave, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702). A burial was held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 from 1:15 PM to 1:30 PM at the St. Mary's Cemetery.
