He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Johnston (Whipple); his parents, James Blackwell Johnston and Grace Battis Johnston; and his brother Edgar Blackwell Johnston. He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Bell (Ian Bell) of Harleysville, PA and Steven Johnston (Rossana) of Boulder, CO; and his grandchildren, Kieran Bell of Pittsburgh, PA, Aidan Bell of Harleysville, PA and Katherine Bell of Cleveland, OH.
