He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Thompson and Alice Thompson; his son William McCoy; and his siblings, Cola Lee, Spencer, James, Zachariah, Sidney, Adrienne and Willie Otelia.
He is survived by: his wife Fannie P. Thompson; his sons, Darrell Andrews (DeVita) and Marcus Thompson (Courtney); his siblings, Mildred Davis, Mary Cherry (Winfred), Rudolph Thompson (Lisa) and Charles Smallwood (Lillie); his grandchildren, Tara Thompson, Da'rell Andrews, Wesley Thompson, Keishaun Thompson, Darin Thompson and Kennedy Thompson; and his great grandchild Jamir Thompson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
His church ministry was through the donation of fruits and vegetables to the various church groups, events and the community, earning him the nickname, "Vegetable Man.".
