He was predeceased by : his father Walter R. Simpson. He is survived by : his mother Dorothy "Claire" Simpson (Biggam); his wife Beverly A. Simpson; his children, Melanie Ann Simpson and John P. Simpson Jr.; and his siblings, Joey (DeAnna Simpson) of South Carolina, Tim Simpson of Wyoming, Jeannette Walters of Hazleton, Debbie Callahan (John) of Ashley and Connie McAfee (Dennis) of Virginia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
