He was predeceased by: his parents, Cora M Hornberger (Smith) and George E Hornberger; and his siblings, Albert Hornberger, Charlotte Taiclet and Elma Scheib.

He is survived by: his sons, Darvin (Amber Hornberger) of Hegins and Christian Hornberger of Hegins; his grandchildren, Chase A Hornberger (Jenna J Horngerger) of Kenosha, WI and Heings; and his brothers, Charles Hornberger and Robert Hornberger.
