He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Ruth Sturm; his parents, Bernard J. Sturm and Magdalene J. Foerster; and his siblings, Bernard J. and Monica A. Sturm.
He is survived by: his children, Johanna S. Chehi (Mark) of Durham, Karl V. Sturm (Julie) of Houston, TX, Madeleine A. Sturm (Ron Bridges) of Kintnersville, Eric J. Sturm (Margaret) of Wilmington, DE, Gretchan M. Burkholder (John) of Lancaster, Hans B. Sturm (Barbara) and Kristen E. Howard (Dale) of Villa Hills, KY; and his grandchildren, Stephen, Missy Chehi, Matthew Sturm, James Thompson, Jessica, Justin Sturm, Heidi, Jehu Burkholder and Jimmy Sturm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Saucon Valley Community Center, P.O. Box 111 Hellertown, PA 18055 and or the Saucon Valley Conservancy, Inc., P.O. Box 3, Hellertown, PA 18055 or donations to Hellertown Borough, 685 Main St., Hellertown, for a tree to be planted within the park system in memory of Dr. James Sturm.
