He was predeceased by: his parents, Christian Emes and Sarah Emes (Fleischer); his wife Arlene Emes (Shober); his son Barry L. Emes; and his siblings, Clarence, Elmer, Christian, Earl, George, Leon Emes, Lilly, Mabel, Ethel, Mary, Laura, Mildred and Stella.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Kevin L. Emes (Nancy) of Schwenksville, PA, Lisa D. (Bill Capp, Jr.) of Hershey and Brett L. Emes (Deanna) of Apollo Beach, FL; his daughter-in-law Dianne Emes (Showalter) of Douglasville, PA; his great grandchildren, Derek L., Tyler B. Waltz, Kathryn L., Erin W., Danielle M., Brianna and Brooke Emes; and his great great grandchild Raegan Waltz.
