He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd William and Mary Akers (Sorbin); and his son Archie L. Akers. He is survived by: his wife Janet (Blatt); his children, Jennifer Kinter (Thomas) and Chad Akers (Alicia); his daughter-in-law Lisa Akers; his grandchildren, Emily Sue Akers, Anthony Akers and Natalee Akers; and his sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Gallo (Jim) and Maryann Akers.
