She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul James and Bernice Kurzdorfer (Weiss); her husband Paul Thomas; and her brother James. She is survived by: her children, Ellen Olson and William "Bill" Olson (Irene); her grandchildren, Sarah, Jacob and Max; her great grandchildren, Samaya and Sam; and her brother Charles Weiss (Mona).

Memorial donations may be made in Bernice's name to the Humane Society of Pittsburgh, 6926 Hamilton Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15208.
