She was predeceased by : her husband Harold G. Hawley Sr.; her parents, John Hellmers and Ethel Hellmers (Brigham); and her brother Richard Hellmers. She is survived by : her son Harold G. Hawley Jr. (Maurya) of Honesdale; her grandchildren, Heather Miller (Bernie), Harold Hawley III (Sherry) and Adam Hawley (Amy); her great grandchildren, Logan Miller (Emily), Seth Miller, Katelyn Goodwin (Jordan), Jacob Hawley, Logan Simpson, Stasia Todd, Owen and Carter Hawley; her great great grandchild Watson Goodwin; and her close friend Joyce Hellmers.

“I met Dorothy and her husband over 20 years ago when she stopped by our home in Damascus. The house had been her grandparents place and we had a wonderful afternoon talking about the "old days". Over the years I ran into her a few other times in town. She was a lovely lady, who I will fondly remember. Rest in Peace!”
