It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Russell B. Mechling Jr. of Hopwood, Pennsylvania, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 16, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Russell Britt Mechling and Beulah Irene Dixon Mechling; his former life partner Eleanor Burns Mechling; his wife Sheila Kania Mechling; and his sister Beverly Roberts.

He is survived by : his children, Peggy Bednarik (David) of Waterford, VA, Russell B. Mechling III (Louise) of Uniontown, Garrett Mechling (Janel) of Uniontown, Ellen Ulmer (William) of Uniontown, Mark B. Mechling (Tiwanda) of Uniontown and Robert Brian Mechling (Courtney) of Uniontown; his stepchildren, Lynda Kintigh (Jerry) of Pittsburgh, PA and Christopher Varva of Yorktown, VA; and his pet Lucky.

His love of reading has prompted the family to suggest donations may be made to the Uniontown Public Library.
