He was predeceased by : his parents, Albert Hontz and Mae Hann Hontz; his spouse Shirley Benscoter; and his brothers, Warren, Robert and Ronald Hontz.

He is survived by : his children, Beverly Morris (Charles) of Nanticoke, Brad Hontz (Mary) of Sweet Valley and Melissa James (Brian) of Jackson Twp; his grandchildren, Candice, Tina, Charles, Catherine, Brandon, Destin, Jared, Kyle and Justin; and his great grandchildren, Jacklyn and Raylen.
