Donald Wren Maloney Obituary

We are sad to announce that on June 30, 2023 we had to say goodbye to Donald Wren Maloney (Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania), born in Hackensack, New Jersey. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Denis and Evelyn Maloney; his wife Edna; and his brother Alan. He is survived by : his caregiver Edna J. Bates; and his children, Kevin Maloney (Tuyen), Megan Sims (Terry), Siobhan Royack (Mark), Deneen Mantegani (Paul), Brian Maloney (Ellen) and Shelagh Cummings (Chris). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and many friends.

Having lost Edna in 2008 and later downsizing to the Foulkeways retirement community during Covid, Don's pace relaxed a bit in recent years, and his involvement in musical groups waned, but never did his enthusiasm for family, friends, food, or the Sunday funnies.

Jane Goodfellow Straub wrote a sympathy message

“Dr. Don met my cousin when he was a handsome young doctor and my cousin a beautiful young nursing student at Abington Memorial Hospital.They enjoyed a long happy marriage with 6 beautiful children. I was never treated by Dr. Don, but we met Edna and Don occasionally for dinner and enjoyed his stories of college at Yale, and their early marriage in Germany where Don treated soldiers. Dr. Don was an interesting, educated and thoughtful man who we will miss. Our deep condolence to his family.”
