He was predeceased by: his parents, James Cortegerone and Elizabeth Lauzano Cortegerone; his son James Joseph Cortegerone; his brother Peter; and his nephew Joseph Cortegerone.
He is survived by: his daughter Teresa Cortegerone-Romano (Jason Cease) of Nanticoke; his grandchildren, Luigi Romano and Isabelle Romano; his wife Lorraine Dombroski Cortegerone; his grandchildren, Luigi Gerard and Isabelle Marie; his brother Joseph Cortegerone (Catherine); and also Luigi Romano. He is also survived by many cousins and close friends.
James and Lorraine worked with The Luzerne Foundation to establish the James Joseph Cortegerone Scholarship in honor and loving memory of their son.
