She was predeceased by: her parents, Flossie Fortson and John B. Fortson; and her daughter Beverly Smyles (Harry M. Smyles). She is survived by: her husband Harry M. Smyles; her son John Smyles; her daughter-in-law Karen Smyles; and her grandchildren, Hanna and Adam Smyles. She is also survived by relatives and friends.
